It's all wrong

It's all wrong

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

I had a (nice) dream last night, the melatonin was high (not dry).
In it, everything was pearly.
There was a boy and a girly.
It was you and me and everything, caught in the fire.
It got me thinking about you.
I can't, I thought, the karma police!
I should just go to sleep.
But as I got up to get the daily mail, just killing time,
it dawned on me...

...I can't give up the ghost, I can't keep trying to fight-
I am a moth, who just wants to share your light.
Your words and sounds
follow me around.

Believe me when I say I want none of this-
but when the landscape is a dry desert island disk,
the lull can lead to risk-
-because in the end, even if there's pain,
broken hearts make it rain.

I'm lucky to know you and I will leave it at that.

It's all wrong.
It's all right.
