A Frozen Glow

A Frozen Glow

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

I can't reach you.
All I can do is
beseech you.

Knowing your love;
it wasn't even a love,
it was life;
a shooting star we captured
from above.

Fragments of stardust we swallowed
hollowing out our insides,
making space for each other
to reside.

You're still there in that space
never leaving,
always in place.

I take you out and pick you up
examine and drink you in,
draining the cup

from which we drank from
so long ago

A memory now,
A frozen glow.
