That Day

That Day

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

Your face, it doesn't leave me
Except for wanting more

My insides obliterate
every time you walk out my door

So off limits I can't even dream
of a first kiss
in my mind, I can't even scheme

Your fixation maintains,
people see it and I am who's to blame

Do you hear that? do you see?
They are gaining on me

and all the while, all I can do, all I can breathe in is your smile

So go now, go away
keep me safe and at bay

And before we know it
before we can blow it
it will be that day.
