Just Vine

Just Vine

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

I am a vine
aching to intertwine
yours and mine,
til I envelop you
and you die.

You see me
and at first
I'm dreamy.
And as I begin my wrap
you stand in awe and
grasp back.

Soon enough I overtake
and there's nothing you can do
but fake
the fact that you made
a mistake
of letting this vine
catch
your longing eye.

I am a vine
aching to intertwine
yours and mine
til I envelop you
and you die.

I'll be just vine.
