Tepid, Tempered and Tame

Tepid, Tempered and Tame

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

your pulse reached me

left my arching spine frozen

in time

a non-partner in crime

tepid, tempered and tame

a plump, beating heart on the table

kept you at bay,

unable

sharing cannot be caring

if his burden you’re always

wearing

drop it off here, in the mud (soil)

move on to seedlings ready to

just have fun (toil)
