We are Still

We are Still

A Poem by Kristle Marfori

To the man I once perceived as mine
You are still,
But also a piece of what has left me
And left me, with only my faith to leave me.

I have savored my time with you
Carelessly I admit,
But nonetheless time devoured me
And left me believing in forever, forever is dangerous.

To the man I dreamed once perceived me as his
I will wait,
Tomorrow is mysterious, but we are still.
