Journey

Journey

A Poem by Kristle Marfori

For you see,
This is the journey gifted
By my heirs
And the forebears who willed my birth.
They could not have foreseen how I broke to break their generational curses
That I would look to them for guidance in the constellations
That I would forge my own passage
And at other times, that I would surrender to the tides to tear at the sides of my dreams.
Sometimes, I wonder aloud if the dreams I protect are my own
Or did they dip their toes in the rivers of an inherited bloodline
But then my imaginings pulsate through the heart, and I know with all of me that this gifted journey, as rolled around dreams
Only evolved into what was always mine, and mine alone.
