My view of what poems can be.

Poems can be short and sweet
Full of easy to understand words and meanings
Like a child learning how to speak

Poems can be rhythmic and fluid
with words that ebb and flow
Like the waves crashing on the beach

Poems can be erratic and cryptic
And hard to understand
Like the fury of mother nature tormenting the land
