MonstersA Poem by kristen0928
Youngsters are afraid
Of monsters under the bed They flip the switch Darkness snarls Curling around the room Their tiny feet Swiftly pitter patter Diving under the sheets Wrapping themselves in warmth and safety But what of the monsters With innocent, plain faces Or the demons inside of my head They aren't limited to the Underside of my bed There is no blanket of security No armor of warmth No where to burrow From the fears Clenching my insides Only all consuming darkness With no light to banish The monsters away Just me and my demons Floating through another day © 2017 kristen0928 |
