Drip Drop

Drip Drop

A Poem by kristen0928

Shut up.
You're annoying.
Do you know when to stop?

Drip drop
The rage simmers
Inside of my chest
Heart churning
Acid burning
Thumping and sloshing
My emotions rise to boil
Splaying heat across my cheeks

Sideways glances
Bated breaths
The thunderous clock
Ticks seconds away
And the acid drip drops
Up up
But not away

I touch you
You cringe
I speak
Your eyes roll

I make requests
You shout your demands
I stand, I stand, I stand
And reprimand

The concoction
Of anger, hurt
And dwindling self worth
Threatens to spew over

So I make one last dash
One feeble attempt
To stand, stand, stand
On courageous land

I walk out the door
Self worth still in hand
Wishing you would see me
For more

About
I love writing and reading. I have trouble sleeping. I think too much and love too deep. I have too many feelings and ponderings about life, and write therapeutically (as I'm sure most people do) more..

Running Running
