Thin Skin

Thin Skin

A Poem by kristen0928

Skin to cover
Skin to protect
Skin across skin
Seemingly thick
Although it is not
My thin skin is the problem
I thought
Your words stamp across my thin skin
And it burns
Your truths gouge it
Pick at it
At the charred and burnt flesh
My thin skin can't take your jabs
Its false sense of security crumbling
The avalanche of emotions tumbling
My thin skin

About
I love writing and reading. I have trouble sleeping. I think too much and love too deep. I have too many feelings and ponderings about life, and write therapeutically (as I'm sure most people do) more..
