Friendship or Fear?

Friendship or Fear?

A Chapter by Krissy

Alice lead me to our new room. The view was great! For the longest time, Alice cuddled to my chest. I didn’t mind. The sofa was soft, and she was, too. I heard the door open. I meant to go down and meet the others, but Alice remain in my lap.
"What the hell is all my stuff doing in the garage, Esme!” I heard one exclaim. That must have been Edward.
A roar of laughter came from another, and I assumed that it had to be Emmett.
Alice sat up and tugged on my hand. “It’s time to introduce ourselves.
I followed her down stairs. I heard a woman’s gasp and knew it had to be Rosalie. Esme had already taken a liking to us. Emmett stepped in front of Rosalie as if to protect her.
Edward, Rose, and Emmett; this is Alice and Jasper. They will be staying with us as long as they wish. You will treat them like your siblings, such as the way you treat each other,” Carlisle said.
Emmett was the first to smile. Obviously, he could tell I meant no harm. This brawny tall boy was nothing than a soft teddy bear. He clamped a hand down on my shoulder.
"Welcome to our home, bro,” Emmett said as his grin widened.
"This is my Alice,” I said pulling Alice tight to my side.                    Emmett stood chest and chest with her. I had the urge to pull her back to me, but I control myself. Alice looked up for she was rather tiny compared to him. He looked down and released another roar of laughter.
“Well aren’t you just a tiny little thing,” He laughed still staring down.
“Emmett! Don’t be rude!” Esme snapped.
“What?” He asked innocently and backing away from her. “It’s true. Besides, she petite not small.”
Alice giggled and took my hand. I felt her having to pry it open to fit her hand inside. Obviously, I had be so tense that my hands had been balled up. I wrapped both arms around her. Rose giggled as Emmett did the same to her. I glanced toward Edward who hadn’t said anything thing the entire time.
“Edward, it is lovely to meet you,” Alice said.
“It’s my pleasure,” He replied gently.
Hmmm…very polite. I wonder why his so quiet. Hmm….
I glanced back at Edward to see he was smirking. What was so funny? His grin grew wider but then fell. His face looked cold and sad. It was heartbreaking almost. Of course! Edward could read minds. I remember Alice telling me on the beach. Well, I hadn’t thought of anything that would have made him sad…but Alice might have. I pulled in Alice’s emotions. It was love. Love for her new family and love for me. He was alone.
The room was filled with awkward silence, and Edward was the first to walk away.  He sat at a baby grand piano. The music was beautiful.
Alice left my side and stood behind him to listen. I was surprised when she placed her hands on his shoulders. He didn’t flinch away or stop playing. She leaned down to whispered something in his ear. I was the closest standing, so I was the only other one that could hear.
“You will find her one day, Edward. I see her. She’ll find you soon,” She whispered softly. She kissed his cheek and looked at me.
I walked to her in human speed. As far as I could tell she hadn’t offended him, but he felt unsure. I could understand that. I always hoped that I would meet my princess, but I doubted it. Then, Alice found me and I my life was complete.
"Do you play, Alice?” Edward asked.
     “Not well,” She replied softly.
He chuckled and continued to play the soft beautiful notes. We left his side to rejoin the others.
“This is my Rose,” Emmett said.
He pushed her slender body in front of his and showed her off like a prize. I could understand why. She was beautiful, but to me, she was nothing compared to my Alice. She looked angry as Emmett ran his huge hands down her body, but then she smiled. Slapping his hand lightly, she turned to face us.
“As you can tell, Emmett is like a child,” She explained. “I was out hunting one day, and I found him being mulled by a bear. I carried him to Carlisle for the change.”
“Carlisle is the father figure of this family. He created all of us. He is the oldest and has the longest story. I was second to be created. I jump off a cliff because I had a miscarriage with my only child. Although I was still breathing, they brought me to the hospital’s morgue. Carlisle found me and made the change,” Esme said. “Since I am married to Carlisle, I am the motherly figure. Our family moves from place to place. We start new lives. The boys and Rosalie all go to school. I’m not going to force you two to go, but the others really enjoy it. I’m so happy you two are going to stay.”
She came up to Alice and me and wrapped her arms around my waist. Alice and I automatically hugged her back.
Two days later, Alice had a shift in her visions.
     “Damn it!” She cussed.
“What is it, Alice?” I asked.
“We need I.D. to get into the U.S.”
     “That’s not a problem,” I said. “I know a way to get driver’s licenses and I.D.”
That evening, I snuck back into United States. I crossed into the western territory. Near the little town of Forks, I found what I was looking for.  A tall skyscraper stood high. I enter it secretively. It was just becoming morning, so no one was there yet. I broke in the back door with out any alarms going off. I snuck up to the highest office and hid in the shadows. Hours later, a man walked into the office, locked the door, and sat at the desk. I creep out of the shadows and clamped a hand down over his mouth.
“Don’t scream or I’ll kill you,” I said.
