Alice's story

Alice's story

A Story by Krissy

Alice Cullen’s dark, coal colored eyes scanned the forest around her for any animals. She smiled slightly as she spotted a small deer, standing only a couple of meters from her. Alice pounced, baring her teeth at the animal. It stood in place, paralyzed, when it saw her. She was too fast for it; the deer never had a chance to run.

Alice only had been a vampire for a year. She escaped the Asylum, with help from the man who had turned her into a vampire, two weeks after she was changed. Since then, she had been alone. Alice stayed where she could. Most of the time, it was in the woods. The woods were an ideal hiding place; they were dark, and supplied plenty of blood for her.

Alice judiciously stepped out of the woods. If it was a sunny day, she would have to remain hidden in the woods.  Luckily, this day was overcast and looked as if it would rain any minute. She looked at her surroundings; she only saw a couple of office buildings and a restaurant. That was when she received her first vision. Alice saw herself heading to Philadelphia. There she would go to a small diner.

But that was all that she could see for now. The rest of the future had not been decided. Who was she to mess with the future? Alice obeyed her vision, swiftly heading towards Philadelphia. It took her four days to arrive at her destination. Alice stayed at a small hotel a few miles east of the city. She was just finished hunting when another vision came to her:

She was once again in the diner; but now she saw more clearly. She was sitting in a dark red vinyl booth. The time read 10:06 AM. The door swiftly opened, and a tall, lanky, blonde vampire walked in. He brought with him the icy wind and rain. He approached Alice cautiously, and she saw them talking. That was all Alice saw before she was brought back to her room.

The next day, Alice left her room extra early in the morning. She hunted for a few hours, then gathered her few possessions and walked over to the diner. The analog clock on the wall flickered to 10:00 as she walked in. Immediately, a waitress walked over to her with a menu and a cup of coffee. "Anything for you, dear?” She said, smiling hospitably. “No, thank you.” Alice flashed a brilliant smile back at her, and again looked at the clock. It was time.

She looked out a nearby window, seeing that it had begun to rain. “Any minute now.” Alice thought, her eyes glued to the door. Sure enough, it opened, and Jasper Hale walked in. She smiled and waited for him to come over to where she was sitting. “Hello, Jasper.” She said. He opened his mouth to speak, but Alice already knew what he was going to say.

Alice and Jasper stayed in Philadelphia for a while longer, until Alice foresaw them going to Washington, and joining a family of vampires named the Cullens. They took off together, leaving immediately for Forks. And the rest, as they say, is history.
