Turpentine

Turpentine

A Poem by Randolf Ramos
"

Temper will corrupt virtues and our future

"

Turpentine as volatile as thy temper.

Burns thy virtues, thy soul.

Like ember coal on crimson hue.

Wind turns it into ashes.

Turpentine as volatile as gasoline.

Such soul engulfed in flame.

Temper destroys a soul.

And not by turpentine.

How wise you are to realize anger's destructive effect. You are healing yourself in vocalizing this. I liked your comparison of turpentine's flamability and the emotion of anger. Tempers flare up when you are feeling vulnerable, frustration, confusion, and anger from painful experience or conditions in life. Your expressions of releasing this pain is powerful!!

Temper and turpentine. Interesting. As an artist, a painter, turpentine holds a different impression, yet I can draw many analogies from this poem. Great images, compact framing, ethereal as the spirit it invokes.
