Good Riddance

Good Riddance

A Poem by krisliane

Glad to finally be rid of that dining room table,

Its 6 matching chairs

And the glass-doored buffet.

We spoke of it wide-eyed in bed last night

After months of chipping the last of the wine glasses

And breaking the final steak knife clean

Between the blade and handle

From 11 years of hard gripping.

We sold them on e-bay to a couple in the village

For far less than they were worth, but no matter for money.

You said, "I'm so glad it's finally gone," and found

My foot with yours, down under all the covers.

This is a cute poem, reminds me of when I parted with some of my belongings.

This is quite a 'different' subject, but still a very enjoyable read. It's nice when you can agree on things...

Goood job!!!!

This is the most original thing I've seen yet.
A poem about the dining room table...
*nods in agreement*
