A Poem by Kristin Lee
"

This is what home should feel like

"

Toes painted like wildflowers

Squish purposefully into wet sand

Leaving footprints behind me,

Echoes of harsh realties I’ve endured.

As cool waves crash upon me

Playfully showering my skin with salty spray

All my past sins and transgressions

Begin to wash away.

Capturing the essence of something so pure

Can only be done where hope is interred

This is why I’ve been called here,

To the only home I’ve ever known.

Here, where deep blue waves

Rise like majestic Titans

To greet the sun kissed horizon

As if she were their God

This nirvana is a veritable bounty of sensation

Requiring all anxiety be checked at the door

One of the oceans secrets…

She restores the soul’s tranquility,

From upon her breathtaking shores.

Like it, good emotions and I like the feeling of the sea healing you, plus you used the word "squish" ! Awesome. I'll check out more of your stuff. Good work lady.

A deeply emotional piece well described. I coukld see the figure walking along the shore in thought but feeling safe once again and reaching peace.

That is a contrast, a Pacific Beach and London!
Wow...can you say descriptive details? The imagery in this is beautiful. My favorite line is As cool waves crash upon me Playfully showering my skin with salty spray All my past sins and transgressions Begin to wash away." I love that. I don't know if this was your intention but your poem makes me feel so calm and tranquil; it makes me feel at ease like I'm truly home. Beautiful stuff Kristin.
