Sweet DarknessA Poem by Kristin LeeDarkness has met its match...Oh sweet darkness, come to me Let me linger in the magic inspired by our insidious kiss And the delicious doom you impinge upon my heart Like a dagger soaked in deadly nightshade The endless expanse of nothingness created by our sins Is plush enough for me to dive right in. Oh sweet darkness, I beg of thee I never imagined a life with you stalking my every move But I’m addicted to your dark and dangerous moods You shuttle my spirits to bouts of ostentatious rapture Then drop me like dead weight to rocky shores Leaving me to die; Bleeding and exposed to the core Your callousness only makes me want more. Oh sweet darkness, how could you be so naïve? You’ve toyed with the wrong heart I’ll not be your feast for the taking After lying with me sweet darkness, You’ll be collecting your fractured remains. See, I know what you were here to steal But I beat you to the punch God your soul looks delicious, Maybe I should have it for lunch? Come now sweet darkness, You shouldn’t have shown such zeal And left me on those jagged rocks to die Didn’t you hear me cry? Rest assured your soul is in a safe place If you’re good, maybe I’ll even let you have a taste. Oh sweet darkness, you’ve no idea who I am You’ll follow me forever because you think you can Together we could rule the world Now that I have the upper hand; You are my sweet darkness But I won’t be your sacrificial lamb. © 2013 Kristin LeeAuthor's Note
