You're Still HereA Poem by Kristin LeePeople come and go. But there is one thing that's always there...You’re there, Hovering around the edges Of my convoluted mind God knows I’ve done everything To push you away And still, You persist. I want to forget But you force me to remember It’s such an inconvenient habit This tap dance of surrender. I’ll admit, There have been times in this life When you were my only friend Those days were plagued by darkness Sin was open so I went right in. But you never left my side You were a silent and patient guide; Unyielding was your faith in me Always understanding However painful it may be Hope burns eternally. © 2013 Kristin LeeAuthor's Note
