Very poignant, and hits home with me. "What do you feel?"...a seemingly simple question, but I have been with men that would absolutely never be able to ask, nor answer this little, tiny, easy question. Me, I could write volumes on how I feel, and yet it seems that I always end up with male counterparts who cannot.
This reminds me of something that I was telling to an ex at one point...he said "you know I love you", but I said "how do I know?" "Do you tell me, not just in those three words, but in an expressive way that I can actually hold on to that shows you know how I FEEL?" The power of understanding and being understood is fathomless. Well done write...one of your best.

And it's so true, if he just asked me, instead of always guessing at elast then I could try to express to him in my own words what it is I'm feeling...instead of assumptions lingering between us. And it goes for all relationships.
Thank you so much for the great review, it means so much!

I could almost sense the tones of your speech. I found this very interesting actually, I could imagine a bourbon drinking, 1930s debutant churning out some of these lines, well done Kristen.

Ha ha, that's a great compliment, thank you very much.
I love this! I can tell how much those words mean to you, the emotion is just oozing out of them. I adore it. Always a lovely time reading your work, can't wait to read more.

This seems like a poem that is very close to home for you. You've poured a lot of emotion into this piece. Communication is a problem a lot of relationships have, and very rarely do we stop to ask our significant other how they feel. Excellent work.

It's true, we rarely stop and ask our loved ones, "how do you feel." But even worse, when we do, we don't stop to listen for the answer.
OMG! 0.0 I love the questions you asked, this was such an amazing that was structured amazingly well!!! You are so amazing, aaahhhh, Im a huge fan!!! :D Haha, amazing work as always, I truly love the way you write.
Breaking down the walls of emotional commitment and fear, so you can become one with a significant other on all levels resonates a divine truth within this great poem. Great write. Pouring out your soul on this page makes your poetry a cherished divine art to this very day. :)
"What do you feel?"- so much more of an important question than "How are you doing?" especially for intimate relationships. I really like this stanza:
And yet, a life of fear
Is no life at all
The motto I declared:
Live for each moment…
Or don’t live at all.
Great poem, Kristin!

The immediate answer to, "How are you doing?" is usually, "Fine." But ask, "What do you feel?" And the person really has to think about the space within. As for the motto, I just love the sentiment. Let go of the what if's, maybe's, and theinfinte plan's. Live for right now, this moment. It's the only gurantee.
