Gods Artwork on Parade

Gods Artwork on Parade

A Poem by Kristin Lee
"

We’re all horses on the same carousel

"

The ravages of this life

hack through every tender part of me

with the sharp callousness of a dull knife;

eviscerating what little remains

of ignorant innocence.

I never asked for this.  But then, who does?

We’re all horses on the same carousel;

Gods artwork on parade,

what is…simply was.

Wandering thoughts seldom invoke peace,

an inner balance I must seek.

Most wounds will heal

under the sacred hands of time;

but life will leave scars

even the divine can’t rewind.

It’s only a matter of time,

before memory loss

will convince me to say,

                “ This life may be savage,

                                 but I wouldn’t have it any

                                             other way.”

We are God's artwork on parade. We are moving to follow the right direction. But life's a road full of obstacles we have to pass through. And as different individuals on parade, some choose to stop, and some choose to continue moving.

Once you feel too much distress, sometimes you tend to forget everything especially those painful times in your life... wishing that through losing your memory, you'll be numb and there'll be no more pain anymore.

Nice job :)

An interesting take on life Kirsten. From one with multiple scars, thought provoking in its stance that you have to reach senility to acquiesce and accept life and all it has to throw at you?

Time will never have the ability to erase all wounds. That's a sad truth. Scars are a fact of life.. read more
Wicked carving skills K. That opening cuts to the quick and pours salt in the wounds. Good job as well with your representation of time as a divine being, powerless to remove life's scars but powerful enough to rid you of memories so you can live(maybe not so much in piece but in appreciation).
