After Light Comes DarknessA Poem by Kringefest...And Light is never to return.
Between the bloodied cirrus clouds,
The Sun drew its first golden breath, The sequin Stars blinked away, The Moon humbly rolled beneath the skyline. Out came the orange, And painted the sky with a colored haze. Then came purple, pink, yellow then blue, As the grass was set ablaze. Between each crevice and corner, Was a small dab of Light. Darkness nary stayed, As the light took over. There was no time to sulk, To think once more, or regret. For when Light shone its colors upon you, All that has wrecked shall be forgotten. And soon will Light show All the good in the world. It will rid you of the bad, Introduce a better tomorrow. But if Light Stayed forever, Perhaps we will never know What was bad to begin with. Perhaps Light would be our enemy, Rather than Light's absence. For Light never showed us What "No Light" meant. So we would come to fear Light, And Light would come to shun us. We would fear the whole world, And nothing would console us. But then Darkness would arrive, Alas, Light would soon depart. And then Darkness would save us all. And the night would surely comfort us.

StatsAuthorKringefestAboutWhy do we credit fantasy when the realism here gives us the beauty and interest we could ever wish to see? Ergo, fantasy is not my top genre. I like realistic fiction, however, but it may go overboard.. more..Writing
