Sittin' on my porch as the rain falls down
The cold ice of a spring shower
And the water holds your scent
I'd stop thinking if I had the power
The soft warmth of your hand on mine
How I thought we had so much time...

The cherry that bubbles at my tastebuds
Is like the wine of a time forgotten
Even now I smell your skin
I could slip, give you another shot an'
I close my eyes...
As the storm rages, intensifies

But I'm lookin' out for me
Baby, can't you see
The wind blows
And a leaf turns
In a new direction
I'm breakable
Simply shakeable
And this fragile heart beats slow
It still wants you, but know
That I'm movin' like rain in the wind

The earth cools and the clouds grow dark
Rewind and I'm cryin' in my pillow last night
This chill feels familiar
I think back to the time we had that fight
The icy frost of your blue eyes
What a fool, thinkin' you were mine...

The puddles on the road glimmer wet
Like the freshness of ancient memories
And I see your lit-up smile
I would've traded an inch for a mile
But I close my eyes...

'Cause I'm lookin' out for me
Baby, can't you see
