corn syrup

corn syrup

A Poem by kreativ_skribe

pinteresFeeling all of the darkness seep back into my brain tonight

I hate how I can’t control it and I can’t seem to understand it

It’s like my own mind is fighting against me

Tearing me down in the most subtle of thoughts and biting of realizations

I can feel the world slow down like corn syrup

Suddenly, it’s hazy and hard to navigate

And the thoughts in my brain race, but at a snail’s pace

Threatening to break me down and make me believe

That, in fact, nothing really matters

I think you have captured the essence of feeling depressed when depersonalisation takes over and everything is an effort. Eating, sleeping, breathing, thinking all moribund. You inject personalisation in this piece and it has such a sad edge.
