The World, FirstA Poem by kookoobananasWhat do I want? How can I achieve What I want? How can I possibly Be asked To choose? Some days I think I want You Some days I think “us” Could be enough Sometimes the thought of Walls And a roof And a kitchen And a ring Seems like a viable Option And other days Not so much… I want the sea. I want to hold it in The palm of My hand I want to adopt All of its Creatures And verbalize for them What they can’t. I want to see The green I want to be able to Identify Each and every Vein on Each and every Leaf on Each and every Branch Of the forests trees I want To make A difference I want to wiggle my Toes In every inch of Soil On this earth I want to see my breath before me As the whales migrate In the bitter cold Of Alaska. I want to sleep On the hard ground of a Hut Somewhere in India And I want to Pray to the lord Krishna and I want to seek Nirvana with the Buddhist men Who have found Peace within. I want to explore Every corner and I want To read the secrets Of the Stars and I want to Bathe in the light of Our mother nature I want To make her proud. And after I have walked across The world I want To have someone to Share it with. I want You To delight in my Ecstasy And then I will be ready for Bedtime stories and Dinners burnt or delicious Depending on the Recipe For lustful nights filled With the creek of our Mattress and the crickets Outside of our Window I want you I want “us” But I don’t think It will be enough… If I can’t have The world First. © 2013 kookoobananas |
