Chapter TwoA Chapter by Konohachapter two...Akito and Akane made it to another small town by daybreak, they were exhausted but, worth their effort because they heard people talking about an organization. “Have you ever heard of an organization called the Akatsuki?” one woman asked another beside her.
“No, what about them?” said the other. The first woman explained about the Akatsuki with very little detail. “But here's how you can tell it's them...they all wear cloaks of black with red clouds.” The first woman continued, and they walked away. The girls froze. The two men they passed in the last village, they were Akatsuki. “Akane, maybe if we stay here for the night, we could find out more about the Akatsuki!” Akito said excitedly. Akane put a hand over her friend's mouth, urging silently for her to keep quiet about their mission secret. Akito nodded and Akane released her hand from her mouth. They walked though the village for a while until they got hungry and started looking for a place to eat. It started getting dark, they had just found a small inn that; to their luck, provided food. The girls enjoyed a bowl of sticky rice and ramen on the side. Akito tested out the mattress, she smiled in satisfaction. It was comfortable, and they didn't realized that they fell asleep. When they woke up, the sun was shining and warm. “That was a good sleep, we have to keep going. I think we're close---What's wrong?” Akito was looking down with a troubled expression. “Is it just me, or don't you remember falling asleep?” Akito seemed serious about this, Akane thought about it and shook her head. “Then that settles that, we're leaving immediately.” Akane grabbed her backpack and headed out the door with Akito following behind; they passed the front desk quietly, the innkeeper was busy with some papers. “That was close...but I have a feeling that the innkeeper wouldn't have drugged us. So I think it's someone on the outside, maybe another person staying?” Akane thought aloud, and Akito nodded enthusiastically. Someone was spying around the corner unaware to the two girls. They were hidden in the shadows and one was a girl, while the other was a boy; both were older then them and ninja from the hidden Mist. Akane stopped and peered around the corner, the spies were gone. She whispered to Akito, and they split up. In a few minutes they met up at a tree, panting, they sat down. “Did you find anyone?” Akito asked in between breaths. Akane shook her head disappointedly. It was a feeling that they had; a feeling of being watched that made them cautious. A bush moved slightly and the girls were in defense mode, ready for an enemy. But there was nothing but a small furry, innocent rabbit. The girls were relieved but embarrassed by their how jumpy they were for that split second. Akane and Akito tried to pet the rabbit, it stood on his hind legs and sniffed the air, then suddenly ran away. They turned around because the rabbit was looking behind them, there was two people standing there. Both of them was wearing the forehead protector of the Hidden Mist. Akane and Akito stood up quickly; both of them pulling a kunai from their pouches, ready for a fight. The hidden Mist girl looked at the young girls and smiled, “Aren't they cute, Koji? They think they could beat Jonin from the Mist.” The boy beside her half-smiled, but know it was an empty threat. His partner would not purposely hurt kids and they were about the same age of her deceased younger brother. “What do you want?! You've been following us, haven't you? Why?!” Akane shouted, her temper flaring. The girl smiled slightly, and smooth her long black hair out of he face. The boy whispered in her ear and she whispered back. “My name is Takahashi Kaiyo, and that over there beside me; is Koji. We've come to stop you in your search for the Akatsuki, they are dangerous and children like you will most likely get hurt. Go home back to your village, forget this 'mission' of yours.” © 2008 Konoha |
