TearsA Chapter by KonohaItalics are dream sequences.Kakashi and his team walked Mikazuki outside, the moon was still high in the night's sky. Her skin glowed anew with the moonlight, before they had left the Hokage's office; she was given an apartment and a small key to the inside. She dreaded living all alone. All her life there was people around her: her grandfather and mother, her friends and teamates, and the people of the Tsukigakure. Small tears slid down her cheek, but she brushed them away quickly. She was already ashamed of her weakness. Someone tapped her on the shoulder and she jumped. Sakura smiled sadly at her, "this is your apartment." She said pointing at a large building, "yours is number twenty-two on the second floor." Mikazuki thanked them for their kindness and bid them a good night. She went inside, a receptionist was sitting at a desk with tired eyes and looked at her quickly. "Good evening, I'm new here. I have a key already." She said quietly and went searching for the stairs to take her to the second floor. She felt physically and emotionally drained. Finally she reached her room and scrambled to unlock the door; not even bothering to look around, she collasped on the floor and sobbed quietly. Her black hair covering her face. When she felt like she couldn't cry anymore, she fell into a restless sleep. "Grandpa?" She called out into the black nothingness, only to recieve no answer. She called out again. No answer. Wondering around her empty village---that was once filled with life, was now empty. A figure appeared and Kenji was standing in front of her; there was a blood stain on his clothes. "You let me die!" he accused, she shook her head. Tears slid down her cheeks once more, she cried out when he came closer. "You're weak, it's your fault everyone is dead!" "No! But I'm sorry! I am weak," she cried. She continued, "But I will find away to avenge you all." She woke up in a cold sweat, lying on the floor. Sunlight streamed through unopened curtains. She stood up and opened the curtains being blinded by sunlight; it took a minute for her to adjust to the light. She looked downward to the streets below. It was still early but the city was already full of life. She thought about the dream she had, it seemed so real. The thought of it sent shivers down her spine. The thought of crying again made her head hurt badly. She wanted some type of medicine to stop her pounding headache. That's what I get for crying all night, she thought. She looked in a cupboard and took out a glass cup and filled it with cold water from the tap. She wasn't thirsty but she used it to hold against her head. There was a knock at the door, she went to answer it and saw Naruto, Sakura and Sai; Kakashi was standing behind them reading a book. "Morning!" Naruto said enthuiasm, Mikazuki held her head. "What's wrong?" he asked with concern. She shook her head. "Sorry, I just have a migrane. I'll be fine in a few hours or so," she said with a fake smile. Obviously they weren't fooled by this smile. Sai was looking at her intently; Sakura was wondering what he was thinking. "Well, shall you show me around? After all I just got here last night." She stepped out of the door and walked down the hallway with them. © 2008 Konoha |
