Powerless

Powerless

A Poem by Courtney

 Stripped of power by savages,

pages ripped from my books.

Velvet seat crushed

and tossed to the

glowing blaze.

The smoke envelopes me,

clouds my eyes

until all is polluted.

Disappearing picnic

under my palm,

leaving me to starve

and hear voices.

A lost comfort to never return,

only remains in dreams—

dreams that I cry to dream again.

quite powerful, you CLEVER girl!

This was really good. Dark, and I really did get the feeling of being powerless as I saw the character in the poem. There is an interesting feeling to being powerful and powerless, each one can be addicting. Very well done!
