Hourglass

Hourglass

A Poem by Courtney

This isn't the right choice;

I don't know what I'm doing

warns an amplified voice

of this life I'm pursuing.

My conscience screams each day;

it puts me in a panic.

Should've gone the other way;

my mind remains frantic.

Filled with constant worries of regret.

It is simply too late.

My life's path has already been set.

No chance to re-evaluate.

This is a decision too large

for someone of just eighteen.

It's too early to take charge,

I explain to the Dean.

But time is up, he explains,

placing my diploma in my hand,

too late to make a change

and falls the last grain of sand.

I should've listened...

Never regret it's those decisions that make you who you are. Good or bad, i always try to learn from those experiences. very honest writing.

Some decisions we make are irreversible and we feel there is no way to get out of them and though we can't change them we can find ways to rectify them... a raw and powerful write.
