BOB

BOB

A Poem by Courtney

The selfless things you do for me, I'll never understand.
I'm used to begging, but with you I don't even have to ask.
I can't believe I only met you five years ago;
You've been more of a father to me than anyone has.

I shook your hand on my eighteenth birthday;
you stuck it out through the times that were rough.
Now I thank God every day that she chose you -
a father figure I finally don't need to be scared of.

You'll never comprehend the depth of my appreciation.
When times were the worst, you saved me.
I wish this would've happened years before,
and you could've been the one to raise me.

You've helped me in ways you'll never know,
and someday I'll give it all back to you, I swear.
I thank you for all the things you never had to do,
the kindness you showed me, the love and care.
