Dig

Dig

A Poem by Kid Kirby

Dig

Dig, dig, dig

Until the surface retreats

Dig until the bedrock is breached

Dig until the daylight fades from eyesight

Dig until sound from above is a soft buzz

Dig until all is cool

All is quiet

All is calm

Then lay down your worry

Lay down your fear

Lay down you anxiety

Lay down your shovel

And dig no more

This isn't meant to be creepy - someone gave me the word 'dig' and asked me to write a poem, so this is what came out.

i absolutely love this.
i dont know how you meant it, but i take it as saying to just keep pushing until you are satisfied then rest; there's no need to push too far.
what were you thinking when you wrote it?

It's not creepy to me at all. It just seems an allegorical lesson in staying-with-it-ness.
