A Car RideA Poem by Miss Von DurantI'm not entirely sure, to be honest. In this envelope of cold. This chilling mist I breathe. Lets me feel my lungs inside. Taking in as I collide. Touch is fire on my hands now. Veins snake blue across my hands now. My heart is pounding against my chest. Clockwork motions to my breath. Life is pooled on the floor beside me. Gone despite my desperate plea. - You were riding shotgun, what did you expect. So dangerous to get so close, now everything is wrecked. You said that I was worth it, I'm human after all. There are some things, that you can't change- And now I've watched you fall. How many times I told you, it doesn't matter now. I cant, I don't regret it, I'll say it in a vow. I'll say to you once again, as all time will allow. You're dead because I killed you. At the time I'd cried- No wait- My tears were kept still in my eyes. Not a drop for your demise. This cold is just too deep. All because you cared for me. All I can feel is my own breathing. © 2011 Miss Von Durant |
