Wings
A Poem by Kristopher Ross Koehler
This is a poem I wrote when I was feeling very down and missing my lover with every shred of my heart. I wished, at that moment, that I had wings so I could fly and see her.
If I had wings, I would have the power to see the world in a way that very few do. But the only power that I want to behold, Would be me flying out to you. Although the distance may not be very much, It's a long way's away when I am longing for your touch. Right now, I feel so empty and weak, But my strength returns to me, simply when you speak. I know that soon we will see each other again, But until that day comes nigh, I will keep my head up, and my eyes set to the sky. The stars are out and the moon is bright, But no matter of luster can match your light. I need you in my life, whether I admit it or not, And through all these struggles, I'm learning, That I sure do love you a lot. The days are long and the nights feel longer, But throughout the days I feel our love growing stronger. You're the one for me, and I know it's true, Because the only one I can see for me, Is you.

I don't much care about critique on this one. It was solely to get my emotions out and into black and white. If you must review anything, please make it grammar and format. Nothing more, please.
