VengenceA Poem by The ChosenA poem about a King who sold his family for power, only for his son, now transformed into a beast, to return and kill him.Beware,
beware, The howling
in the night. Furious and
hungry It induces instinctive
fright. Take heed, take
heed, The betrayal
from your hand. You sold
them away, For mere
wealth, power, and land. Beware,
beware, The scratches
on the trees. Deep, rough,
and ragged, A powerful
beast hunts thee. Take heed,
take heed, The darkness
of the room. No knights
to protect you, Shadows
menacingly loom. Beware,
beware, The claws on
the stones. Clicking and
clacking, As it draws
closer to your throne. Take heed, take
heed, The King who
sits all alone. No family to
love him, He reaps
what he has sown. Beware,
beware, The crimson
eyes in the gloom. Staring deep
into your soul, Coming to
deliver unto you, your doom. Take heed,
take heed, This lesson
I do spin. For no wealth,
power, or land, Is more
valuable than the love of your kin. Beware, beware,
The howling
in the night. Satiated and
calm, The son disappears,
with dawn’s new light. © 2024 The ChosenAuthor's Note
