What Can Happen In A Second?

Anything.

A baby could be born.

A new form of life.

A girl or a boy.

You could die.

Car Accident.

Side of the cliff.

You could be killed.

Stabbed in the gut.

Slit of the throat.

Shot to the head.

Choked.

Poisoned.

Beaten to death.

A scientific breakthrough.

A new cure to disease.

War could break out,

World War Three.

Someone will die,

Probably more than one.

Somewhere,

A band is beating on their drums.

Poverty Rises,

More people asleep in the slums.

New species discovered,

More trees cut down.

A new president elected,

Another outbreak unfolds.

The Devil watches, laughing,

For to him, our souls are sold.

We decimate this Earth, we kill all others.

This life that we make,

Turns our hearts,

Stone, dead, cold.

Each was at a critical point in a large scheme of things ... he was the only one keeping it together. His fall brought everything down. i like how the poem even when reading it to myself makes you out of breath. It creates this great atmosphere. Gives more towards the message that anything can happen, that within secs your whole world can change. And that death can hit you when you least expect it. Very nice poem keep writing.
