One HundredA Poem by The ChosenI originally started writing about my football team. I was writing in a way where the football game was a battle, between offense and defense, and the players were warriors. Somehow though, it turnedOne Hundred A
hundred warriors, Under
a fallen sky. No
explanation, No
reason to die. The
pointless war. The
useless fights. Bullets
send them to the light.
One
hundred caskets. One
hundred flags. Is
this the prize? One
hundred reasons to lie? They
fought for freedom. They
fought for rights. Wrong. They
fought only to die.
The
parent’s tears. The
sibling’s fright. They
never got to say, Goodbye.
I
love you. Come
back, Alive.
Gone
forever. With
the last of day’s light. © 2013 The ChosenAuthor's Note
