Creep

Creep

A Poem by J. James Reider

"You can't bleed a stone"-

he said from his diamond throne,

as he pointed out of disarray-

"and now you shall stay away!"

Then he dismounted that diamond throne,

I was horrified as his evil eye shone...

"Toss him to the lions so they can be fed-

let his blood be their wine and his flesh be their bread!"

His henchmen seized me and I wasn't alone,

when I caught my last glimpse of his diamond throne...

A pit of lions, a pit of despair,

yet moments before I was so debonair...

Upon his throne of diamonds he creeps-

carrying a wrath that rarely ever sleeps...

The nerve of me to encroach on his throne-

and glance at his diamonds of which no one had known.

The growling hastens as I'm cast asunder-

the falling is slow despite my wonder...

I hear some huge cats with an angry tone-

and insane laughter resonates from a diamond throne!

Woah! In all of my months on this webiste, I have yet to read a poem such as this one! And trust me, from my opinion, that is a really great thing! :D This was very unique and I'm not even sure that I've read something even similar to what you've written above. I really enojoyed reading it and I'm glad that you decided to share it on this website. I'm not one that uses rythm schemes in my poems. Out of my almost 40 I would be lying if i said more than 3 or 4 of them are rythm scheme poems. Most of them are free verse. But anyways I think that you did a great job with the AABB ryhtm scheme in your poem. I really enjoyed reading this! Great write!
