What about those memories that you kind of repress and then forget about but then they resurface occasionally? Does that count? XP Forgive me - you're right. That's a mean loophole. I enjoy this philosophical foray! It's a very good point - it's like remarking on how some people say "the missing object is always in the last place I look!" Because if you think about it - a missing object will ALWAYS be in the "last place you look" otherwise you wouldn't still be searching for it. ... Sorry, I got off an a tangent there.
Anyway, well done. I especially like your remark about "yearning for nostalgia" - I do that sometimes. Very abstract and keen!

You enjoy waxing a little philosophical without getting wrapped up in an "intellectual''s wordy head-trip I see. I like that in writing, saying something profound without using mile-long words that those who don't love literature as we do can still comprehend. This is well done, but you already knew that, thanks to those below me, and thanks to yourself, I do hope.
I have, most likely, one of the strongest senses of memory a person can possibly have without going insane. I remember things so vividly... but in words. My mind can't drag up a picture of anything without a lot of work. My brain seems to work like a type and file system. My entire past is up there, leeching out slowly but surely, sometimes when I least expect it to. Very true, you can't miss a memory, but sometimes they certainly can plague and annoy one...
I had to read this one twice and in doing so I think my brain short-circuited! I had never thought about missing a memory before and now that you mention it, it is difficult to quit thinking about it! Well done!
Oh yes...here comes the cliche...well done...good job...
Ah...purple magic memories...the kind nothing and no one can ever take away.
The kind created in the last few weeks and will last a lifetime.
It is true you can't miss a memory. What about wishing to forget one though? I have many memories that I wish I could forget.
That reminds me of the movie... "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." Ever see that? Jim Carey and .... the Titanic gal.... tip o my tongue.... ahh, Kate Winslet, shew!
I'm not sure how great the movie was... saw it a long time ago. The concept is intriguing though don't you think? A service that can wipe away the things you don't wish to remember... relationships, broken hearts, other sorts of trauma. It creates problems though, as we should already surmise... Life is so complicated and interwoven on so many levels... can't wipe out the bad without wiping out some good....
Queue Babs... "Memories.... like the corners of my mind..."
I do ramble, I apologize, I love the poem Jeff. It makes me think, and that is never a bad thing. Have a great day... Kristina
