A poem about forgetting people that once meant the world to us

Forgetting 

Isn’t always what it seems 

Or what we dream it to be 

Just as wounds don’t hurt 

Until you see them 

Why couldn’t I see you 

For who you were

Left deserted on a island

Someone please find me

The sun has become blinding 

& all I want to do is forget

Sorry! The more you try to forget, the more you will remember. Don't try to forget, move on, build new happy memories. You won't forget the old ones, but they will slowly fade or even disappear.
