Hush

Hush

A Poem by Cas Murray

The bridges I can’t burn lead me to hell
While my lungs are filled with secrets I never tell
They slip out in breaths
Sometimes a little too much
If it wasn’t for my secrets
What would they love?

Such graphic meaning in so little space. I appreciate the bridges
that can't be burned and so regret those that I had. So many secrets
that beg to be told yet time lets some, but only some slip away.

Take care - Dave

This is one of the best of yours I’ve read so far. Each line is head-turning, it’s so originally-stated, yet also relatable. I had the feeling of not knowing where this poem was going, but then it turned out to take me to a very familiar place. Nice way to pack a short poem with a ton of meaning (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Sjoee- deep and troublesome-secrets can ruin you- I believe better out than in- but in the end they win- if something destroys you rather get rid of it- I’m not a good lier anyway- well written🌹

I liked how you used the words. I agree. Secrets, burden and blessing. Become hard or kind memories held tightly later. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I enjoyed this one.
