Sunflowers

Sunflowers

A Poem by Cas Murray
"

Symbolic poem about sunflowers and sunshine.

"

The petals were rays of sunshine.

A July sunshine.

The kind of shine that is illuminated

by cotton candy skies.

A kind of shine you share

a beer under.

The kind of shine you can kiss

a lover under,

a shine that witnesses living.

I love sunflowers & here you’ve illustrated why they’re so irresistible to so many. Starting with the obvious rays of sunshine – a strong metaphor – and then branching out to more adventurous ways to describe what feelings this bright sight conjures up inside you, your celebration is originally stated, even tho the idea is a very familiar one (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
