Three Months

Three Months

A Poem by Kenzie

A poem written about time.

Three months

Does time get faster or slower when a deadline rears it's head?

The beast of time, ferocious, feral, unruly . I'm scared of time; it's not a nice concept

It will end for one, continue for others and begin for most

Time takes time

Every whisper a second wasted, every drawn breath a chance taken

A second more and she might have stayed,

A minute less and maybe he wouldn't have come,

An hour premature and she'd miss her train,

Knowing what I know now or what I think I know at least, I am scared of time

Her lasting imprint on lives

Her guidance towards the right moment

Moments of collect,

Moments of content,

A moment of self,

A moment in time.

According to some eastern philosophies, time doesn't exist. There is only one moment, now, and all the rest is either memory or anticipation, neither of which is real. Western religion in a certain manner agrees, for in the Book of Exodus, When Moses asks God his name, the reply is I AM THAT I AM, not I was that I was, nor I will be that I will be.
