Hush, My BabyA Poem by Allie MccomasA moment stands still in time.
Hush my baby, it won’t be long,
Soon you’ll be singing a brighter song,
And your struggles will finally end.
Then you will see your Father again.
Before long it will be safe and warm,
And there you will be free from harm.
You and I will both be strong,
For in my heart, you will live on.
There now, let me wipe your tears.
I promise there are none to fear.
I’ll comfort you, my precious one;
And hold you close until they come.
Never thought I could love this much,
Upon the first time that we touched.
This moment will stand still in time;
When I could say that you were mine.
I know your purpose here is through.
My empty arms will ache for you.
I’m thankful that you touched my life,
Even with all the pain and strife.
I feel it too, you are almost ready,
Lean on me, my shoulders are steady.
Soon you’ll be enveloped in light,
Surrounding you will be angels in white.
Sweet baby, your time has come.
I love you so much, my cherished one.
And as I look to heaven and sigh,
Your spirit turns and waves goodbye. © 2008 Allie Mccomas |
