To The Prince

To The Prince

A Poem by Knij Nagili

The harshest word became

The sweetest term of endearment

Every second was eternity

Of ardor so violent

What a twisted web we weave

So full of deceit and lies

But in this maelstrom of hatred

You’re the only one I can’t despise

We found comfort in each other’s arms

We built castles in the air

Traversed in the shadows together

And shared moments of despair

This inconceivable union

Will forever make our lives relevant

Outcasts we may be,

Whom everyone finds peccant

The world will condemn us

But what the heck?

‘Cause we’re made for each other

Like a guillotine for a neck

it is exorbitant in the sense, in my opinion, it is the -anti-, an amalgam of strength, desire, despair yet bliss. I am in concurrence with the rest of the crowd in here, that last line of the last stanza, gorgeous. It actually made me gasp. Brilliant. Thanks for writing!

Best regards,
Brian

Wow. That is absolutely amazing. I love the idea made to kill each other which the last time really extenuates. I have been in a situation like this and I cannot think of any words any better to describe it. You did a wonderful job, thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Sincerely,
Miss Carmine

I have to say I love this... a sort of morbid, violent story of love. Captivating.

I love the almost morbid comparison inthe last stanza:
"The world will condemn us
But what the heck?
'Cause we're made for each other
Like a guillotine for a neck"
It gets across a strong emotion without using any overheard lines. Absolutely wonderful, this poem is definately going in my favorites.

I think that bringing the reader along in the story of this poem, seemingly dedicated to hopeless and unstoppable love is brilliant. Especially when you deliver a last stanza like the above.

Even though the rhyme doesn't necessarily flow as well as the rest of the poem, I have to say that the following is my favorite stanza:
"This inconceivable union
Will forever make our lives relevant
Outcasts we may be,
Whom everyone finds peccant"

This is one of those poems that I will absolutely have to place in my favorites, because I'll want to read again and again. Really outstanding work! Personally, I wouldn't change a thing about it.

This piece is amazing, the words flow together neatly. The last stanza in itself could be a short poem, and my absolute favorite is the last line! Excellent read and now one of my favorite poems!

I really enjoyed this poem, the structure and text really brought out the emotion of the poem as well. The strong vocabulary helped bring more feeling into it. I cant really find anything wrong with it, this is an amazing poem that many people can relate to. I really enjoyed it, keep writing.
