The Mirror Talks

The Mirror Talks

A Poem by Knij Nagili

A mirthless smile

That is anything but happiness

More often of anger and deviance

And rarely, of sadness

A boisterous laugh

Isn’t what it seems to be

It’s more like a cry of anguish

Of pain and misery

A heart of stone

Behind alluring eyes

And to the world she feels

Nothing but contempt and despise

Then if she is

Capable of extreme emotions

Why do I ramble on

With these biased notions?

To tell you the truth

From her grasp, I am free

Because she and I are one

It’s the mirror looking back at me

I think, perhaps, the only prison we ever accept is the one we build for ourselves.

Amazing. It rhymes well, not overworked or choked with giant words that no one understands. It's simple, but beautiful & to the point. I love it!

This is great! I have something like this you may like. Not a mirror per say, but I think you'd like it. Yours is much more focused and has a better layout. It's captivating.
