glimpse

glimpse

A Poem by knightcall

picked up a pen
and wrote down this poem
seemed like the thing to do
you've gone a couple of days
and i wanted to fly some ink

the lights are flickering above me
so i spend half my time in shadow
today i felt so good
accounting for the margin of could
i know it's not me to cling
it's that i miss you in this physical place

the confidence that creeps up me
straightens my silver suit
and bounces up my steps
tell you you're beautiful
i follow your eyes to your curves
your intellect to your words

maybe we could sit down and have a chat
i could be the dog chasing the cat
who did you touch today on the shoulder
listen to when they might grow older
we can meet right in the middle of care
there's no time to need only being there

when i knew nothing about you
you open the doors with baby steps
c'mon darlin give me a other glimpse
i know enough to miss you
i miss you enough to want to know you
