too cool

too cool

A Poem by knightcall

here i stand but my knees have lost their lock
and i'm rocking like a horse
trying to catch my gravity again
should i open up and relieve my equilibrium
your smile stays with me and takes my words
maybe that's a good thing
i've wasted a lot of ink
you break into my world with tiny messages
you and me we whisper sweet and short
and this bird does sing
no matter how far the next one is away
don't tell me that this is a fantasy because
my heart tells me what is real

take my hand because i know you change me
there will be no lead, we're fastened together
the absence of light can't hide your beauty
every day i discover more of your strength
i don't want to say everything now
but my knees are failing me once again
you and me could get lost again
we never were too good at keeping time
and sometimes i feel like a fool with a mouth attached
but baby you don't ever make me feel that way
you cradle my soul in those graceful hands
and i'm astounded, heart pounded
somewhere i've never been

you and me made an accidental discovery
if i stumble, surely you will catch me
you won't let me touch the water
a safe bird always is the one that sings
maybe i can sing a song
and convince everyone i'm cool around you

WOW, this blows me away. I'm lost for a lack of proper wording to describe what I see in this for the beauty of one such poem, is locked in the authors protected hands. Excellent poem.
