Lost in the unknown

Lost in the unknown

A Poem by knightcall

i keep waiting for a call
surely it must be out there somewhere
chipping its way out of plaster
catching a new signal
stitching itself together and whole

i'm so lost
i need your voice to guide me
my thoughts just sail away
kicked by the wind
i forget
what i was going to say

i miss the big house
walking the long hallways at night
i miss the calls for sacraments in the shadows of midnight
i miss the connections
the oft chance
i'll tie up some time with you

i climbed the tower
i sat and waited for
electricity again
i could see forever
but i couldn't see you

This was written very well and it suggests things that, unless you have been there, no one could understand. "I've been there and we are reading from the same page.'' You speak of someone raised Catholic and I am a Lutheran, so I understand your message. I couldn't pick a perfect line, but understand of "your" upbringing. Outside the Lutheran and Catholic world, the people don't understand; we're like aliens. I think I loved the calls to midnight masses for the sacraments, the best. The last two lines were penetrating, as well. We, raised as such believers, find it hard to leave our faith, even for love. I am sorry that Martin Luther caused all of this, but he died believing that he was still a Catholic. What a mess that people's preception of him has created. He had no idea that he would create so many "fanciful" religions, when he stabbed his anger on that church door. I know of what you are speaking and I believe with a filled heart that we can change the world, and move them with our faith.

And its all in a days work. The search continues, the wondering continues, the anticipation is frustrating. Nice poem.
