Marvin Gaye

Marvin Gaye

A Poem by knightcall

baby i want to light up your wires
light you up like a sparkler in the midnight sky
darlin it don't matter to me
the imperfections life has given you
they melt together in your eyes

that cast that you've been wearing
reaching straight up to your hip
i don't like you being a prisoner
at least one that i don't have the key
get out my scissors and open you up
can't stand the plaster inhabiting your skin

i watch you crumble
turn to dust which covers my fingerprints
coat you like flour
open your petals like flower
let the healing begin

I love Marvin Gaye too
I sense a longing and a feeling of devotion
in your poem. Wanting someone to heal
physically and emotionally too.
Such a loving poem
full of empathy.
