Reburn

i can't  figure it out

your voice keeps me humming

we can never seem to dock our satellites

the stars keep me connected

but i long for you

i'm living on the next sign

the directions grow inside of me

the quickest way would be another dose

i want to wear your memories like a robe

replay them over and over in my frontal lobe

i'm hanging onto the future

how ever long that will be

the insides of me resonate with

the melody of you

and i hide inside your heart

wanting to make us whole again

someone to catch you on the edge of galaxy

mend you with my big hands touch

no one can figure this out

i'm a spy who never leaves tracks

let me give you another window into my life

follow my heartbeats those i can't hide

transparent as a butterfly without the color

the fire stretches a long way darlin

i take a piece of it

put it in my pocket

tapping on it when i think of you

i need no reminders

i just need to know the comfort

which way will this moment spin

what storms will we turn into

i'm a man with vision

who loves you inside out

up and down and across again

i worry about the detours

the things we can't see at the top of the stairs

flying by night without a compass 

i tell no lies to myself

there's an imprint on me

in how i feel

you are the reason 

why i've held onto the season

a summer of ignition

it makes its way with conviction

there's the hurt of longing

the hope of belonging 

i'm not the vision

i'm the reality

did you see my heart in the sky

satellites in sync

the fire seen above the Earth

expanding in a stretch

between the fire and the flame
