two hands

two hands

A Poem by knightcall

tonight i saw
a couple
walking in the dark
holding hands
you could tell
they were happy
with a glimpse of
their shapes of the night

i've realized
the past few weeks
how much i needed a listen
sometimes i don't know
if the world is one sided
and i don't understand the question
i'm just looking for an even exchange

you know
i've never treated you that way
expected you to trade your gold for silver
i've always asked questions that lead into you
if our hands aren't equally connected
will we ever be
two shapes merging into one

we all hurt
and look for a release
the night plays a song on the piano
maybe romantic
maybe full of pain
maybe somewhere on the median
i know i can handle it all
i just need two hands
         connecting

this speaks so loud to me, I can so relate. Just looking for a release...

Sometimes you see a passing moment and want to capture it forever. This poem reminded me of that.
